We're going through changes...

So, 2 things you should know about me as a blogger: 1) I'm terribly inconsistent, and 2) I find it very hard to start blog posts. So I'm just going to jump in. Follow me if you can.

Three weeks ago, Alice and I had the honor of standing next to two of our best friends while they pledge their love to each other in one of the most beautiful weddings I've ever experienced. While, I could probably talk all night about how much fun it was and how incredibly happy we are for them; it's not the focus of this post, so I'll get to the point.

These friends of ours are such inspiring people. They sweat happiness, energy, and overall wellness. A few months ago, in passing, they mentioned that they had just finished this thing called a "24 Day Challenge" and that it literally changed their life. So, when you hear something like that you're probably going to respond like I did:

As I learned, the 24-Day Challenge is a program from AdvoCare: a company that sells nutrition, weight-loss, energy and sports performance products. Per AdvoCare's website, the 24-Day Challenge "is a comprehensive supplementation and nutrition program designed to give your body the jumpstart it needs to help you reach your goals." More informally, it's basically a plan to help you jumpstart into healthy lifestyle choices. Since I'd already been working on this myself by making better food choices and working out 3x a week at my local Crossfit gym, and because my OCD makes a plan seem REALLY appealing, I decided to give it a shot. And, since she'd already be eating everything I'd be cooking anyway, I talked Alice into doing it with me. :)

So, here we are. One of the biggest parts of the 24DC is making healthy dietary choices. Since I've been pouring over Pinterest trying to find "healthy" meals that won't make Alice turn her nose up at me, I decided to use the blog as a way to document those healthy recipes so that I can easily find them again and again, and so that hopefully it might be helpful to others.

Stay tuned to see how this all plays out.
